reflexions about doing art
well, please let me make considerations about this theme too
it is very interesting to think about things
that concern art
and how to do it
but not simply a tecnique,
a thing that you could give a ready and finished recipe to
i like the philosophy around everything
and mistery
merleau-ponty's visible and invisible
i began the work first by
the drawing . I always part from the drawn.
I am, first, a draftsman; from the draft I go to the others ways, painting, carving,
i never mind to details
I think in what i want to do
always a portrait or a self portrait
or anything that has to see with
human figure - live model, or a
photograph, or any person, family
like said Prof Dra. Anateresa Fabris in her lectures at
Victor Meirelles Museum:
"it's only a pretext", the portrait, the self-portrait are
only pretexts for the artists to paint, to make a picture, to
make a print, to make a "desenho", "deseño" , "designio"
i alawys do the design with nanquim (china ink) and
a brush in the wood directly and don't pay much attention
that in the print it is going to be inverted
than i cut cut cut
love to cut
have several tools but use only one, two or three
when i'm carving it happens a miracle
magnificent things
i feel like i was in nowhere
perhaps in universal space
it is meditation
peace and hamony
